Objective
To fi nance start-up costs in setting up biotech companies and assist towards the development and commercialisation of biotechnology projects in line with the objectives of the National Biotechnology Policy. Maximum funding : RM2.5 million to be disbursed within 2 years

Eligibility criteria
• Individuals, researchers and start-up companies who are in the early stage of setting up companies that has been granted the BioNexus status
• The applicant must have ownership or benefi cial use, of any intellectual property necessary to commercialise the innovation
• The innovation has commercial potential
• The applicant's business must be located in Malaysia and within Malaysia's Biotechnology Focus Areas

• Initial market development efforts
• IP fi ling and registration
• Market and feasibility studies
• Preparation of further investment documentations
• Malaysian compliance and regulatory costs
• Prototyping costs
